I had the same problem.
I tested multiple things and determined it is a compatibility issue with the new version of Joomla! and JooDatabase.
I am on a Mac, so I installed old versions of MAMP (1.8.4) and Joomla! 1.5.15 and was able to get it to work correctly.
For what I'm looking to do, I don't need the latest version of Joomla 1.5, hopefully this helps some of you.

It was a mysql problem which effects only some msygl confugrations.
The problem was fixed in the current 1.5final

I think this is a serious issue. I cannot understand why the developers do not answer. It is an enormous bug which can doubt about the validity of the product.

No.. It was tested with several different tables. Try it by using the jos_content table for example
But you should post me YOUR table structure and the EXACT configuration of your JooDB database in order to get help.
