How to enter data into db - through phpmyadmin or under joomla article?

Ok - I'll try this route. I just went into my phpmyadmin and there is the joomla db with the joodb tables. I have existing tables from a dreamweaver site. Am I supposed to put this information (changing the column names to fit the joodb column names? Where do I enter my table data? Can someone please just let me know this little bit of info????

I would like to know which table do I select for the database. and also how to set up. How do I know if i am selecting the correct table or not in the main tables.

Once you've done that you can enter the data however you like, including through phpmyadmin if you wish.
