Is this possible?

Trying to find out if this is possible with the Pro version. I am not highly versed in Databases and Excel so please excuse my ignorance.
This is essentially a 2 part question.
Part 1
We have an Excel file with about 40 columns. Would my users be able to import that excel file, but only have a certain columns display on the site, say 20 of them? I would prefer they not modify the files to prevent the common 'whoops, did I just delete a bunch of columns and then save?' incidents.
Part 2 (If part 1 is yes)
Is it possible to use Column headers as 'categories'. And if so, could each category only display certain tables. Example: Column 8 header is the category, and when you click on the category it then displays column 1 and column 8 only (I would also want them ordered highest to lowest using column 8).
Thanks for this.

Joodb imports always all columns of a table into one table. But you can choose the columns to display using the template layouts. Try joodb free.

I have installed the free version and will go through the documentation tomorrow to try and set it up. Due to some major software issues (*COUGH*Adobe*COUGH*) over the past week, my deadline has been extended into next week (phew!) so I will let you know if I have any further questions.

Will it overwrite the old info in the database (Or is there an option for this?)
