So i guess it was a problem with the login form at the page footer.
Currently JooDB does not provide Italian translation. But you can do it on your own.
Language files. You can either override the language tags in backend or better copy the file
/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_joodb.ini to /language/it-IT/it-IT.com_joodb.ini
and translate it with a editor.

Is there a way to limit the search results? I have to upload thousands of records. For example, if I enter a simple 'a' as a search term I would find too many results ...

Please only one Question at once.
Ordering works. Probably you entered a false a wrong fieldname.
Fieldnames are case sensitive and they are filtered as command.
To order by Ordering you must define a special ordering field in your table.
