Just to make it clear, I suppose it should display ALL records where appname='myapp' in a 1 page as opposed to ALL records from the table.

After defining the where clause under Joomla Catalog view - Parameters (Basic) - SQL-WHERE Expression (eg.appname='myapp'), catalog view shows only records where appname='myapp'. This is correct.
But, selecting 'All' option from alphabox or limitbox, as defined in Catalog view template using {joodb alphabox} and {joodb limitbox}, yields ALL records.
