Problems using on Windows 8 was created by calder
Basics: XAMPP 1.8.0, Joomla 2.5.7, com_joodb-v1.8.2

Result of installation of extension:
(red) Component install:DB function reports no errors
(blue) Error installing component

Win 8 MSDN version

Most likely it's a problem with with the file/folder-access rights.

Are you able to install other components?
