I did not know Fabrik until today. But as far as I can appraise jooDatabase has a other approach.
JooDatabase is not a application builder. It is a simple component to bring data collections (consisting of one single table) to the frontend without programming. Even if future versions will have more options and even the possibility to link between tables. The basic goal is to keep the setup as simple as possible.
So the question is not "what is the best component?". You question should "be what do I need?".
Nevertheless.... also for JooDatabase you need basic knowledges about jommla, mysql and html-programming.
