The JooDB contenplugin is an extension for the PRO Version. Once you have installed the plugin you must enable it in extensions=>plugin-manager.
You should see a plugin called JooDB - Contentplugin there.
You can choose the default database used be the plugin with the plugin-parameters.

If you now enter joodbitem followed by the ID of an existing database entry in curly brackets the command will be replaced by the single-entry view of this dataset.
The ID (also called primary key) is a unique value (usually an auto-increment integer-field).

Yo can even use the Plugin to show other data-sets within joodb-views.

Example
{joodbitem 8}

You can get the plugin here
plg_joodb_content.zip
