Combined search , advanced search was created by ibaitxu
Hi to everybody!
Is possible to do a combined search so that if I enter two different words corresponding to two different fields, and in case the two words are found in the same record and in each corresponding field, the result is showed?
In addition is possible to do an exact search so that if I enter some word, only if the exact word is found a result is given?
What I want to do is search in a database to show personal information, but only be able to see a result if you have the correct identification code corresponding to the correct name. But I don´t want to register people in Joomla.
Thanks!!!!

That's a very good question , I am also looking for an answer..
I would like to be able to combine two (or more , why not ) search terms
in the search form if I enter :
bleu orange green
my url looks like ::
...............&search=blue+orange+green
somehow I have found that if i change the '+' between my keywords by a '&' IT IS WORKING :)
Now anybody know how to put it somewhere in the code ?

Hi
That' also what I am trying to do.
I would like to be able to search two or (why not) more combined search terms.
for example I would like to get the results for anything containing these words : green orange blue
Somehow I found out that submit this search request the URL will look like :
................&search=green+orange+blue
And now if I remmove the '+' and replace them by '&' solves this problem..
Now does anyone know how to put it somewhere in the code ?? :)

I've tried to establish the same, even created an extra field with all fields collected but it didn't work.
Example:
I want to look up my car, so I type in: BMW 330
The "search field" contains: BMW 3 Series 330i E90 Benzine 2008
I get 0 results!

I'm surprised there's no feedback of any kind on a question regarding a basic search function :-(
Come on guys, how do we get this to work???
Thanks a lot for your assistance!

Only the site search plugin searches multiple words.
But it is a idea for a future enhancement!
If you want it now, you can replace the catalog.php in /components/com_joodb/models with the file in the attached archive.
If you want that all words must be matched you can change the OR in line 149 with AND!
