Cannot understand how "read more" works was created by

Hi to everybody!
I'm trying to understand how"read more" function works. I explain the scenary, I've got a table with asignatures, when I show them using 'Catalog view' each field showed allows me go to "Read more", but when i clic on it a broken page is showed. What should i do to get something there?
