Connect to external database

Hi

I have a problem and I have to solve quickly. I need to connect an external database, but I have never done anything like this. I indicated, please, exactly what I have to write in the fields and if I have to change on the server. Sorry for the banality of the question but I can not go on.
Please answer mewith an example.

First you should make sure that your database is accessible from external hosts.
In the backend click on new and then on external database.



Enter hostname or ip, username and password. If every is correct "connection successfull" and a list of databases should displayed. If not you must enter the database name manually.

In the configuration form of every database you have also a tab called "external database"

1. CMS: Joomla 3.4.3
2. HOST: xx.xx.xx.xx
3. Admin: DirectAdmin
4. Domain: pinco-tab.it
5. Access Hosts: pinco-tab.it and pallino.pinco-tab.it
6. Sub-domain: pallino.pinco-tab.it
7: Database: name: petertab_pan
Host: localhost
Username: petertab_man
Password: xaxbxcxd
Please can you send me an example with these parameters? My external database is connected to the subdomain pallino.pinco-tab.it.

I was able to connect to the database by activating the IP server and entering the number of IP (Server), the userid and the password in the fields of the External databse. I took the test and tells me that it is connected. Unfortunately it seems to me the list of tables. Obviously wrong in the input string. Please, Dirk, give me a hand!

Maybe you did not update to the latest version.
There once was a problem with Joomla 3 and searchable select boxes.
